Frequently Asked Questions
Where is the event held this year?
Our 2020 NALA Awards Gala and Conference will be held in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on May 2 and 3. Both the conference and gala will take place in the ballroom at The River Cree Resort on the Enoch Reserve.
We chose this venue for it's elegance, it's comfort, and the abundance of activities onsite. If you are traveling a long distance to join us you may want to stay in the area for a few days. The River Cree Resort is sure to be an exciting home away from home. They also offer a free shuttle to the famous West Edmonton Mall which is just 10 minutes away. Bree has also put together a list of must-see sights and must-do activities for you to check out while you are in Edmonton (our home city). She has listed both family fun and adult activities.
Can I purchase the gala ticket on it's own?
Event tickets are sold as a package. The ticket includes the 2-day conference and the gala dinner & ceremony.
Ticket holders will have access to purchase an extra seat for the gala if they wish to bring a date. These tickets will be limited and will be offered exclusively to event ticket holders.
Are there prerequisites to attend?
The conference and gala are open to anyone. We do not require proof of professional qualification to attend.
However, our exclusive VIP Cocktail Event held the night before the conference is for NALA Members and Speakers only.
How do I nominate someone for a NALA Industry Award?
Nominations are submitted through our website between November 1 and December 31. All nominations are confidential. NALA does not reveal who submitted a nomination.
If you know someone in the lash industry that deserves recognition for their positive contribution you can put their name forward. Nominations are $25 CAD per submission.
Anyone can nominate anyone. All nominees will be informed of their nomination through email. Nominees must formally accept their nomination to be considered for a NALA Industry Award.
How do I get nominated for a NALA Industry Award?
Either someone submits your name or you can nominate yourself. Nominations are submitted through our website between November 1 and December 31.
If you believe you qualify for an award based on the award's definition, please put your name in the running to be considered for the award. You can't win if you don't apply. Many award-winning businesses around the world submitted their own name for processing. It is completely acceptable to recognize your own achievements. Don't feel weird about it, let us know you would like to be considered.
How are the winners determined?
The NALA team processes each application looking for evidence that the nominee qualifies for the award. We use this information to narrow the lists down to the finalists for each award. The NALA Awards Committee reviews the data submitted for each of the finalists to decide the winner of each award.
When will you reveal the winners?
Every nominee is listed on the NALA Gala website. The list will be updated to reveal the finalists on February 15, 2020.
The winners will be revealed at the NALA Awards Gala on Sunday, May 3, 2020. The awards ceremony will also be aired live on the NALA YouTube Channel for all to watch in real time.
How can I be a sponsor for the event?
The NALA event is an excellent opportunity to showcase your business to your ideal audience. We have multiple options for getting involved as a sponsor. Contact Bree to request a 2020 sponsor package:
